Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Davis
Dallas, Texas
Dear Tom and Monica,
It seems like the time between our Christmases goes faster each year. Christmas 2009 is here and 2010 is approaching quickly. It is a time to look back at what we accomplished in 2009 and forward to the celebration of the birth of Christ and the New Year.
In 2009 The Catholic Foundation had the opportunity to help local organizations do many good things in our community. Grants were made to help build churches, pave parking lots, purchase computers, address literacy, and augment art and science programs in many schools -- just to mention a few of the needs addressed. It is satisfying to see all that grant recipients accomplish; some have even called The Catholic Foundation “Santa Claus” because of the help we are able to provide. We could not do that without our many supporters who have helped build the Foundation over the last 54 years. The Foundation is very fortunate.
As we look ahead to Christmas and the New Year we are thankful for all those who are doing the work we support. We are also grateful for our many benefactors such as you who have taken advantage of the many ways The Catholic Foundation can help with their charitable giving plans both now and in the future. Thank you for your support of the Foundation and for placing your trust in us to assist you with your charitable giving.
Please accept our best wishes for a blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Very truly yours,
Edwin M. Schaffler
President and Chief Executive Officer
