Rev. Michael Forge
Mary Immaculate Parish
Dallas, Texas
Dear Father Forge,
First of all, thank you for opening our recent grant ceremony at St. Monica’s with a prayer. We had much to be thankful for since The Catholic Foundation was able to present $691,821 in grants to twenty-six different causes that day.
The grants included the usual ones focused on fixing leaky roofs, repairing parking lots and replacing windows, but they also included several that were focused on our young people. The grant that was made to Mary Immaculate for the ministries kitchen was one you should be especially proud of as it was the parish Youth Ministry and the young people of the parish that started the ball rolling for the grant. The kitchen is a big project and while the Foundation was only able to grant partial funding that did not seem to be an obstacle to the completion of the new facilities as the youth ministry has happily accepted the challenge to raise the needed funds. I feel certain they will be successful and the new kitchen will soon be a reality at Mary Immaculate. I hope that I can soon sample a dish prepared in the new kitchen by your parish youth!
The many other grants focused on our youth emphasized the importance of supporting their educational and cultural growth and their growth in our catholic faith. I feel sure that the trustees of The Catholic Foundation are happy to see the grant funding go towards building the future of our church through our youth.
Please extend our best wishes for a blessed Christmas season to everyone at Mary immaculate.
Sincerely,
Edwin M. Schaffler
President and Chief Executive Officer
