Mr. Ray Chavez
Plano, Texas
Dear Ray,
I want to thank you for your many years of service on The Catholic Foundation’s development committee. Since you first joined the committee in 1999, the effort to raise the Foundation’s profile and its services to families in the Dallas Diocese has been a major part of the Foundation’s success. Since 1999, the Catholic Foundation has received more than $40 million in gifts resulting in the distribution of well over $30 million in unrestricted and donor advised grants.
There were many components to the effort to publicize the work of The Catholic Foundation. One of the most successful, begun in 1999, has been our letters published on page 2 of the Texas Catholic. The bi-weekly letters have described the results of many of our grants; have complimented many dedicated Catholics for their good deeds; thanked others for their generosity towards the Foundation; and, have even addressed how the Foundation encourages the planned giving which drives our growth and benefits everyone in our Diocese. Many readers have told us how much they enjoy the letters and are the first item they read in each issue.
The Texas Catholic has informed us they are changing the format of the paper and has asked us if we will move for our letter to page 5 from page 2. We will sadly leave our longtime and familiar home on page 2 but we want to assist the Texas Catholic with its progress so page 5 will be the new home for the letters. I hope you will look for us there!Sincerely,
Edwin M. Schaffler
President and Chief Executive Officer
