Texas Catholic Letters

February 6, 2009

Mrs. Marianne Staubach
Dallas, Texas

Dear Marianne,

The Trustees of The Catholic Foundation are looking forward to the evening of February 12th when the Foundation will present you with the 27th Catholic Foundation Award. We are happy that you accepted the honor because we know that you prefer to do your good works without any recognition or thanks. Your example of humble service to our community is one that we should all strive to follow.

When the selection committee was deliberating on whom to present the award to this year, you stood out above many other deserving individuals. Your service to The Catholic Foundation as a trustee and Distribution Committee chair was only a small part of the service you have given to make our community a better place to live. The choice to honor you with the Catholic Foundation Award was very easy.

The evening at the Hilton Anatole Hotel is shaping up to be another wonderful night. Under the leadership of Charlie and Liz Tusa, the event chairs, we are expecting a record attendance. The evening will begin at 6:00 pm with a social hour and will be followed by a wonderful meal and program. In addition to presenting you with the award, we will recognize The Catholic Foundation Scholar who will be presented with a $5,000 scholarship.

It will be a great evening, bringing together cross sections of our Catholic community from throughout the Diocese. As always, the event is open to all and we hope everyone will put the evening on their calendar.

Congratulations again and we look forward to seeing you and your family on February 12th.

Sincerely,

Edwin M. Schaffler
President and Chief Executive Officer
