Happy New Year from The Catholic Foundation! 2009 was a good year and we are looking forward to an even better one in 2010. The Foundation was the beneficiary of many wonderful gifts that went towards building the Foundation and helping our Catholic community.
It was good to learn from you and your estate planning attorney that you are reviewing your estate plan with The Catholic Foundation in mind. With our philanthropic expertise we have been able to assist many others with their planning. The Catholic Foundation will help you establish and manage the funds that will support your various charitable interests. We think it is important to prepare fund documents while you are planning so you can be sure they correctly reflect your charitable intentions.
In 2009 in addition to creating many funds similar to the type you are contemplating, the Foundation made distributions throughout the community from funds exactly like the type you are considering. Grants were made to support specific schools, scholarship programs, senior citizen causes, disabled veterans and many other areas that were important to our donors.
